Pakistan and China have decided to launch three new corridors besides the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The three are China-Pakistan Green Corridor (CPGC), which will focus on agricultural environment, food security and green development; the China-Pakistan Health Corridor (CPHC), which will help Pakistan get efficiency in the medical field; and the China-Pakistan Digital Corridor (CPDC), which will boost Pakistan’s IT industry.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has directed the Vice Chancellors (VC) of nine universities in Kerala to tender their resignation, citing a Supreme Court judgment.
There has been an ongoing tussle between Kerala Governor and the Pinarayi Vijayan-led state government. After the VCs approached the Kerala High Court challenging the order, the court has now ruled that they can continue in their posts.

Gujarati New Year or Bestu Varsh is being celebrated in the month of October. The Gujarati New Year, Vikram Sanvat 2079 is beginning on October 26.
In Gujarat, the new year is celebrated as part of the five-day Diwali Celebrations.

The 27th annual UN meeting on climate, COP27 (Conference of Parties) will take place in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt from 6th to 18th November.
This will be the fifth time a Climate Conference is being hosted in Africa. COP27 will focus on three main areas, reducing emissions, helping countries to prepare and deal with climate change and securing technical support and funding for developing countries for climate activities.

Engineers Conclave-2022 (EC-2022) of the Indian National Academy of Engineering was organized jointly with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) at Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC-ISRO), Thiruvananthapuram.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has proposed dedicated satellites for supporting the country’s agriculture sector. ISRO is also discussing with Department of Agriculture on the proposed ‘Bharat Krishi Satellite’ programme.

Notes:
China has started dispensing an inhalable COVID-19 vaccine to its people. According to the Shanghai city administration, the free booster dose of the vaccine is being made available to those who have already had vaccinations.
It comprises of a mist that is breathed in via the lips. The ‘needle-free’ vaccines are expected to increase vaccination rates in countries with weak health systems.

The 7th ASEAN-India Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture and Forestry was held under the co-chairmanship of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
The meeting also welcomed the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-India relations. The progress in activities under the Medium-Term Action Plan of ASEAN-India Cooperation (Year 2021-2025) was reviewed. Agriculture Ministers of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam also participated in the meeting.

Vijnana Bharati in association with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) is set to hold a ‘Conference on ‘Akash Tatva’ at Dehradun.
Vijnana Bharati, is a wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Singh (RSS). The involvement of the Vijnana Bharati has rised concerns that it may promote pseudoscience.

The 9th annual India Sweden Innovation Day 2022 concluded successfully. The event was organised in association with the Embassy of India to Sweden and Latvia, Sweden-India Business Council (SIBC), and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The event was themed ‘Accelerating India Sweden’s Green Transition’ and it was attended by over 1,000 participants from across the globe. India Sweden Innovation Day 2022 was hosted by India Unlimited.

The first edition of the India-Mozambique-Tanzania Trilateral Exercise has recently commenced at Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
Indian Navy is represented by the guided missile frigate, INS Tarkash, a Chetak helicopter and MARCOS (Special Forces). The exercise has three objectives: capability development to address common threats through training and sharing of best practices, enhancing interoperability, and strengthening maritime cooperation.
