The Nagaland side won the title after 42yrs. The winner team got a cash prize of ₹3,50,000 lakh while the runner up team ₹2,00,000 lakh. Lemmet Tangvah of Chandigarh was adjudged ‘best player.’ Shotok Nikhuyi was named the ‘best goalkeeper’ while Ankur Khanna of the Chandigarh team was declared the ‘best coach’. The Fair Play trophy was presented to Zila School, Chabasia, Jharkhand, along with a cash prize of ₹50,000.

On October 14, 2022, NATO said that it would launch its annual nuclear exercise “Steadfast Noon” on October 17, 2022, with up to 60 aircraft taking part in training flights over Belgium, the North Sea and Britain to practise the use of U.S. nuclear bombs based in Euro.

Goalball is a Paralympic sport, it is specially designed for blind people of a certain age. Goalball Federation of India held Goalball nationals at Maharishi Dayanand University in Rohtak recently. In the finals, Maharashtra beat Uttarakhand.

Sweden’s parliament has elected a new Prime Minister ‘Ulf Kristersson’ the conservative Moderate Party leader as Prime Minister at the head of a centre-right coalition.
Though three-party coalition does not have a majority, Prime Ministers in Sweden can govern as long as there is no parliamentary majority against them.

The Confederation of Indian Industry partnered with Indian Oil Corporation to launch ‘Vayu Amrit’, a crop residue management initiative, in Punjab’s Sangrur.
The CII already runs a crop residue management programme in Punjab and Haryana to mitigate stubble burning to reduce air pollution.

Mallikarjun Kharge has been elected as the first non-Gandhi President of the Indian National Congress (INC) party in 24 years.
In the Congress presidential election, he defeated another candidate Shashi Tharoor by securing 7,897 votes out of the 9,385 votes.

State-owned REC Ltd and Power Finance Corporation have signed a pact to provide Rs 8,520.92 crore finance for setting up a 1,320 MW thermal power plant at Buxar by SJVN Thermal Private Ltd.
According to the statement, the total estimated project cost is Rs 12,172.74 crore with debt requirement of Rs 8,520.92 crore. As per the agreement, the debt requirement shall be financed by REC and PFC.

The next edition of the Indian wind industry’s biennial exhibition-cum-conference, Windergy, is to be held in Chennai, next year.
As the state of Tamil Nadu has a strong presence of the industry’s supply chain, the event will be held at the Chennai Trade Center.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone of various connectivity projects at Mana village of Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand.
The two road widening projects including one from Mana to Mana Pass, shall provide last-mile all-weather road connectivity to our border areas. The ropeways, which are being developed in the state, provide environment-friendly mode of transport.

Pakistan and China have decided to launch three new corridors besides the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The three are China-Pakistan Green Corridor (CPGC), which will focus on agricultural environment, food security and green development; the China-Pakistan Health Corridor (CPHC), which will help Pakistan get efficiency in the medical field; and the China-Pakistan Digital Corridor (CPDC), which will boost Pakistan’s IT industry.
