National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) said it has acquired a 5.6 per cent stake in the Union Government’s Open Network for Digital Commerce for Rs 10 crore.
Leading depository NSDL invested an amount of Rs 10 crore under the private placement route. ONDC is an initiative of the Commerce Ministry to create an open public digital infrastructure.

Every year on October 14, the World Standards Day is observed. This day, also known as International Standards Day, aims to educate consumers, policymakers, and businesses about the value of standardisation.
This year’s World Standards Day is centred on the concept of ‘Build Back Better’. October 14 was decided as the World Standards Day to commemorate the first gathering of representatives in London in 1956, which marked the launch of an international body to facilitate standardisation.

‘Bharat Krishi Satellite programme’ is ISRO’s dedicated programme in agriculture sector. It will span agricultural related activities, pesticides, irrigation, crop data, drought statistics etc. A minimum of 2 satellites will be required to cover the entire agricultural area of the country.

President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated two passengers train, one of which is going to connect Tripura and Manipur for the first time. Jan Shatabdi express will connect Tripura’s capital Agartala & Khongsang in Manipur, and the other passenger train will link Agartala and Kolkata via Guwahati.

The Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is the permanent body of the SCO RATS based in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. It was in news because meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (RATS SCO) was held in New Delhi on October 14, 2022. A decision was taken by the member states to counter the challenges and threats posed by different international terrorist groups from the territory of Afghanistan.

The 7th edition of IBSAMAR, a joint multinational maritime exercise, among the Indian, Brazilian, and South Africa Navies was held at Port Elizabeth in South Africa. The Indian Navy participated in the exercise that included both harbour and sea phases.

VINCOV-19, India’s first antidote and a projected cure against SARS-CoV-2 virus is now ready for market authorisation and simultaneous phase-3 clinical trials. The drug, a joint effort of the University of Hyderabad (UoH), the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and immunological company VINS Bioproducts Limited, recently passed the phase-2 trials. It was conducted in over 200 participants across multiple centres in India.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on October 14, 2022 launched a universal health insurance scheme for the people of the state. The Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CHIS) will be implemented in convergence with the Ayushman Bharat scheme of the Centre. The aim of the scheme is to alleviate financial hardships due to hospitalisation expenses and prevent accessibility to healthcare on account of inability to afford it. The scheme has been categorised into CMHIS Employees and Pensioners (EP), and CMHIS (General).

ISRO chairman Sreedhara Panicker Somanath made the announcement of the new NGLV launch during a press conference on the sidelines of ‘Engineers Conclave 2022’ at the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) in Valiyamala. NGLV will be cost-efficient three-stage reusable heavy-lift vehicle with a payload capacity of ten tonnes to Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO). NGLV is using semi-cryogenic technology which will be both efficient and cost-effective.

Goalball is a Paralympic sport, it is specially designed for blind people of a certain age. Goalball Federation of India held Goalball nationals at Maharishi Dayanand University in Rohtak recently. In the finals, Maharashtra beat Uttarakhand.
