The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has initiated an effort to tackle the proliferation of counterfeit drugs produced by nutraceutical companies in the country.
As part of this endeavor, 21 facilities in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, were inspected, and 111 samples were collected in June, with plans to inspect 25-30% of nutraceutical manufacturing units in Himachal Pradesh by the end of June 2023.

Cloud-to-ground lightning strikes refer to electrical discharges that occur between a thundercloud and the Earth’s surface.
Their occurrences have increased in the European Eastern Alps due to climate change. Lightning activity in the higher European Eastern Alps doubled in the 2010s compared to the 1980s, according to a new study.

Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival that is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It is also known as Double Fifth Festival.
People take part in various leisure activities to spend the Dragon Boat Festival. The Chinese community in Kolkata also observes the traditional Chinese holiday, commemorating the ancient poet Qu Yuan.

Meta Platforms Inc (META.O) has announced its decision to block access to news on Facebook and Instagram for all users in Canada.
The Online News Act, a legislation mandating payment from internet giants to news publishers, is enforced. The Online News Act has received approval from the Senate upper chamber and is awaiting royal assent for it to become law.

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for authorized economic operators (AEOs), allowing Customs authorities of both countries to recognize safe and compliant exporters and importers.
This agreement aims to enhance facilitation and streamline customs clearances for AEOs, providing them with improved benefits and efficiencies.

Blue Pansy (Junonia Orithya) has been named the official butterfly of Jammu and Kashmir. The Blue Pansy, a type of vivid blue butterfly, can be observed in different regions of Southeast Asia, Australia, and Africa.
These butterflies, recognized for their territorial behavior, display 26 distinct local subspecies within their habitat.

To commemorate International MSME Day, the Ministry of MSME will be observing ‘Udyami Bharat-MSME Day’ on June 27th at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Union Ministry of MSME Narayan Rane launched ‘CHAMPIONS 2.0 Portal’, ‘Mobile App for Geo-tagging of Cluster Projects, Technology Centers’ and ‘MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0’ for women entrepreneurs.

The ‘Order of the Nile’ was conferred recently to Prime Minister Modi. It is the highest civilian award of Egypt.
It is the 13th such highest state honour that various countries across the world have conferred upon the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Commenced in 1915, the ‘Order of the Nile’ is conferred upon Heads of states, Crown Princes, and Vice-Presidents who offer invaluable services.
