The Disha Mobile App, launched three years ago, has created a record with more than 1.17 crore registrations in the State.
The App was aimed at safety and security of women. Police, women protection secretaries and volunteers attached to village and ward sachivalayams, who launched Disha special drives, registered about 1.17 crore women.

The cyclonic storm “Biporjoy” has developed over the east-central and the nearby southeast Arabian Sea.
It is expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 115-125 kmph and gusts of 140 kmph.  This is the second cyclone in the North Indian Ocean within three weeks, following Cyclone Mocha, reaching the intensity of a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first school in Gujarat’s Mehsana district is being developed as a model school called “Prerna” to inspire youth of the country.
In this school, two children from each district in India will be enrolled to spend around a week in the school and they will be trained on how to live a evolved life.

Air Defender 23 is the biggest air force exercise to be held by NATO. This 10-day military undertaking is primarily based in Germany.
It’s the biggest drill of its type since the military alliance was formed in 1949. The event will see 10,000 participants and 250 aircraft from 25 nations.

Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) are crucial tools for executing the European Union (EU) Industrial Strategy. European Commission has granted approval for 8.1 billion euros in state aid for microelectronics and communication technology initiatives.
These projects have been collectively recognized as an Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI), making them eligible for simplified EU state aid regulations.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced revised regulations to streamline the process of one-time settlements (OTS) with defaulters and technical write-offs of loans across all regulated entities. RBI has issued detailed guidelines requiring regulated entities to establish board-approved policies for OTS and technical write-offs, specifying the procedures, standards, and staff accountability within specified timelines.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan commissioned the first phase of the Kerala Fibre Optic Network (K-FON).
The project is aimed at providing free Internet access to 20 lakh below poverty line (BPL) families and connecting 30,000 government institutions, as well as providing Internet connection at nominal rate to the public.

Genetic diversity quantifies the variations in DNA mutations among individuals within a particular species.
In a new study, scientists at CSIR-Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB) discovered a correlation between genetic diversity and body size in species, indicating that larger-bodied species tend to have lower genetic diversity. Species with maternal care for their offspring exhibit higher levels of genetic diversity.

Captagon is a highly addictive amphetamine-type drug that is mainly produced in Syria.
As Syria is re-entering the Arab League, the discussions on the trade of the Captagon pills have regained the global significance.

The Union Cabinet has approved the third revival package for BSNL with a total outlay of 89 thousand 47 crore rupees. It includes an allotment of 4G and 5G spectrum for BSNL through equity infusion.
The authorised capital of BSNL will be increased from one lakh 50 thousand crore rupees to two lakh ten thousand crore rupees.
