ESAF Small Finance Bank launched a ‘Rainbow Savings Account’ exclusively for the transgender community.
The account hosts a lot of features, including high savings rate and advanced debit card facilities. The Kerala-based institution was founded as a small finance bank in 2017.

The Tamil Nadu government launched the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme, also known as the ‘Pudhumai Pen Scheme’.
It provides a monthly grant of Rs 1,000 to female students to pursue a bachelor’s degree, diploma, ITI, or any other recognised course. Those who attended government schools from Class 6 to 12 will be eligible for the financial aid.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal launched the US Startup ‘SETU – Supporting Entrepreneurs in Transformation and Upskilling’ programme in San Francisco.
The initiative would connect start-ups in India to US-based investors and start-up ecosystem leaders with mentorship in various areas including funding, market access and commercialization.

The Meghalaya Government launched a multi-purpose online portal ‘Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA)’.
The digitisation process would connect more than 6,000 villages and localities across Meghalaya to the online system. This aims to ensure the safety and security of the residents, gathering intelligence inputs for better delivery of numerous government services.

Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the first National Conference on Sustainable Coastal Management in India in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The Conference was focused on enhancing climate resilience of India’s coastal communities. It was attended by officials from all 13 coastal states of India with focus on the three interrelated themes of coastal and marine biodiversity, climate mitigation and adaptation and coastal pollution.

Australia Captain Aaron Finch announced his retirement from one-day international cricket. Finch has represented Australia in the 145 ODIs.
Finch will continue to captain the Australian team in this year’s ICC T20 World Cup. His career includes over 5400 runs with 17 centuries. He made his debut against Sri Lanka in 2013 and smashed his maiden hundred against Scotland, scoring 148 runs.

The strategically important Kibithu military garrison on the banks of Lohit Valley Arunachal Pradesh was named after India’s first Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat.
It is located along the Line of Actual Control. General Rawat commanded his Battalion Gorkha Rifles at Kibithu from 1999-2000 and contributed in strengthening the security structure in the area. Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s Rima post is just opposite this eastern-most military garrison of India.

The Indian Army is conducting a 20-day long exercise named Parvat Prahar. It is conducted amid the disengagement process between India and China in the Gogra-Hot Springs area on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande reviewed exercise Parvat Prahar. The disengagement process follows the talks between the corps commanders of India and China.

King Charles III was officially named monarch in Australia and New Zealand, in tandem ceremonies marking his ascension to the throne.
King Charles III has been proclaimed head of state of both Australia and New Zealand at ceremonies in the nations’ capitals.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated the ‘Indian Army Logistics Seminar’ in New Delhi.
The Minister stressed on the need to build a secure and speedy logistics supply system in the country. He also mentioned about infrastructure development through National Logistics Policy and PM Gatishakti platform.
