Red Bull driver and World Champion Max Verstappen clinched his 15th Grand Prix win of 2022 in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which is the final race of the Formula 1 2022 season.
Charles Leclerc finished second in the race, followed by Sergio Perez. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton failed to finish the race because of a mechanical failure. Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement from F1, making the Abu Dhabi GP the final race of his career.

Notes:
Lophopetalum tanahgambut is a newly identified tree species belonging to the genus Lophopetalum in the cosmopolitan family Celastraceae.
It is a large top canopy tree that grows to 40 m tall, with a trunk diameter at breast height of up to 1.05 m. The new species is only known from peat swamp forests of the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Malaysia’s head of state is known as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the position is filled on a rotational basis among the country’s royal households.
Recently, after the general elections which produced no outright winner, Malaysia’s king failed to reach a decision on whom to pick as Prime Minister. The opposition Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition led by Anwar Ibrahim has won 82 seats, leaving it 30 seats short of a 112-seat majority in parliament.

India and Venezuela held the fourth round of foreign office consultations in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela.
As per the Ministry of External Affairs, both sides reviewed their bilateral relations, covering areas such as political, trade, energy, health and pharmaceuticals, Ayurveda and Yoga, agriculture, culture and science and technology.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)-(Ministry of Commerce and Industry) has invited applications from start-ups for registration on the MAARG portal.
MAARG portal – Mentorship, Advisory, Assistance, Resilience and Growth, is a one-stop platform to facilitate mentorship for startups across various sectors, functions, stages, geographies, and backgrounds.

As per Goa state government ‘no-take zones’ will be formed at beaches of Morjim, Ashvem and Arambol in North Goa, which are a major tourist attraction.
A no-take zone is an area set aside by the government, where no extractive activity such as fishing, hunting, logging, mining or drilling is allowed. This aims to protect and preserve the environment in these areas.

Notes:
Tamil Nadu is the first State to create the role of Director General of Audit in India. The state has appointed an officer from the Indian Audit and Accounts Service on deputation, for this role.
The officer’s responsibility will be to strengthen and streamline the functioning of internal audit departments in the state.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi is the only Indian educational institution among top 50 in the Global University Employability Rankings by Times Higher Education (THE).
The Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) lists the world’s top 250 universities for producing employable graduates. IISc Bengaluru is at the second spot (58) in India followed by IIT-Bombay at 72.

The Central government received a huge dividend tranche of Rs 5,001 crore from the Maharatna company ONGC.
This was announced by Secretary in the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) Tuhin Kanta Pandey. The government had earlier received about Rs 690 crore from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) as dividend tranche.

Notes:
YouTube removed some 1.7 million videos originating in India in July-September this year for violating guidelines. This is the highest number of videos in the world, as per the company’s quarterly transparency report.
It had removed 1.32 million videos in India in the previous quarter, April to June. Around 5.6 million videos were removed globally, for violations related to child safety, violence, nudity, bullying, and harmful content.
