Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture has selected 102 artists of India for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the years 2019, 2020 & 2021.
The artists of India who have made a mark as young talents in their fields of the performing arts are given the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar carries a prize money of Rs. 25,000.

India has proposed for transferring Leith’s Softshell Turtle (Nilssonia leithi) from Appendix II to Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of wild fauna and flora (CITES).
The proposal has been adopted by the Conference of Parties (CoP) to CITES in its 19th Meeting at Panama.  Leith’s Softshell Turtle is a large fresh water soft-shelled turtle which is endemic to peninsular India.

The former Manchester United player reached this milestone after he converted a penalty in the 65th minute against Ghana in their Group H match.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) conducted 200th Consecutive Launch of ‘RH-200’ Sounding Rocket.
Indian sounding rockets are used as tools for the scientific community for carrying out experiments on meteorology, astronomy and similar branches of space physics.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched successfully PSLV-C54 carrying Oceansat-3 also known as Earth Observation Satellite-6, and 8 nano-satellites.
The satellite was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The eight nanosatellites include ISRO Nano Satellite-2 for Bhutan (INS-2B), Anand, Astrocast (four satellites), and two Thybolt satellites.

CITES COP19 has recently accepted the proposal to downgrade the status of southern white rhinos from Appendix I to Appendix II.
The COP-19 accepted the proposal by Botswana and Namibia to degrade the status. Wild animal species listed in Appendix I include those threatened with extinction.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved the appointment of Sundararaman Ramamurthy as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Ramamurthy is currently the Chief Operating Officer-India at Bank of America. He was associated with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) in various roles till 2014.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) deals primarily with cases of money laundering and violations of foreign exchange laws.
The finance ministry notified changes to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, under which the Enforcement Directorate is allowed to share information about economic offenders with 15 more agencies.
It includes National Investigation Agency (NIA), Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), State Police Department, Ministry of External Affairs, and Competition Commission of India (CCI), DGFT, CVC among others.

Chennai headquartered space-tech start-up Agnikul, has set up India’s first-ever launchpad that will be operated by a private player.
The facility was inaugurated by S. Somanath, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Secretary, Department of Space at Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC), Sriharikota. This is the first exclusive launch pad for a private launch vehicle.

A UN panel recommended Australia’s Great Barrier Reef should be listed as ‘world heritage site in danger’.
The UN panel said that the world’s biggest coral reef ecosystem was significantly impacted by climate change and warming of oceans. Frequent bleaching events are threatening the reef, including four over the last seven years and the first during a La Nina phenomenon.
