Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a USD 350 million (about Rs 2,900 crore) loan to improve the road connectivity in Maharashtra.
The ‘Connecting Economic Clusters for Inclusive Growth in Maharashtra’ project will develop the state’s core road network. It will help connect underdeveloped rural communities with more opportunities, improve access to health and social services and improve agricultural value chains.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently announced that Assam and Meghalaya will work with the Indian Army to transform the Umiam Lake into a world-class venue for aquatic sports.

The Ministry of Defence announced that the Army Commanders’ Conference has been inaugurated in New Delhi.
It aims to brainstorm on current and emerging security and administrative aspects and chart the future course for the Indian Army. It is an apex-level biannual event and is an institutional platform for conceptual level deliberations to make important policy decisions for the Indian Army.

Senior bureaucrat Vivek Joshi took charge as the Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance.
He replaced Sanjay Malhotra who is set to take over as Revenue Secretary. Prior to this appointment, Vivek Joshi, a 1989 batch IAS officer, was the Registrar General and Census Commissioner under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

‘International Week of Science and Peace’ is observed every year during November 9 to November 14.
This week is an initiative taken by the United Nations (UN). The International Week of Science and Peace was first observed in 1986 on 10th November in light of the celebration of the International Year of Peace.

American technology major Google has launched a platform that displays flood forecasts, namely ‘FloodHub’.
This platform shows the area and time where floods could occur, in order to inform people about the natural calamity. Google has used an AI technique called transfer learning to make it work in areas where there is less data available.

India has been named as the host country for the 2023 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the event was signed between the International Boxing Association (IBA) and the Boxing Federation of India (BFI). It will be the third Women’s World Championships to be conducted in India and the second event within a span of six years.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said the kingdom would contribute USD 2.5 billion to ‘Middle East Green Initiative’ over the next ten years, and host its headquarters.
The Middle East Green Initiative was launched by the crown prince in 2021 as part of efforts to reduce regional carbon emissions. The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions from regional hydrocarbon production by more than 60%.

The Specified Undertaking of the Unit Trust of India (SUUTI), under the Union government, is set to sell 4.65 crore shares representing a 1.55 per cent stake in Axis Bank.
With the sale, the government would completely exit the private sector lender and is expected to realise about Rs 4,000 crore from the share sale, at the current market price.

The Odisha government observed 10th November this year as ‘Millet Day’ in the state. The primary aim of celebrating the day is to promote millets as a highly nutritive and eco-friendly food product. The Odisha government launched the Odisha Millet Mission (OMM) in 2017 and the Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik announced Rs.100 crore government support under OMM in 2019-20.
