The Assam state cabinet recently approved the Assam Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Facilitation of Establishment & Operation) Rules, 2023.
These regulations aim to grant a three-year exemption to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from specific approvals and inspections necessary for their establishment and operation within the State.

India and Mumbai City FC footballer Lallianzuala Chhangte was named as the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) Men’s Footballer of the Year for 2022-23.
Manisha Kalyan was named as the AIFF Women’s Footballer of the Year for 2022-23. She recently became the first Indian to play in UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Renowned artist Karuvattu Mana Vasudevan Namboothiri popularly known as artist Namboothiri passed away.
Namboothiri illustrated characters of top Malayalam writers such as Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai, Kesavadev, M T Vasudevan Nair, Uroob, S K Pottekkatt and VKN. He was also a painter, sculptor and art director.

The Assembly Judiciary Committee of California recently held a hearing regarding Senate Bill 403 (SB403), a proposed legislation aiming to forbid caste discrimination.
If this bill is approved, California would be the first state in the United States to explicitly prohibit caste-based discrimination, extending protections to caste as a recognized category within the state’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, fair housing laws, and employment laws.

The scarcity of loose hydrogen on Earth leads to the formation of phosphine, suggesting that its existence in other planets could be a potential indicator of life.
A team of scientists at Cardiff University in Wales, announced a new development in the search for life on Venus. They have now detected phosphine in the planet’s atmosphere at a deeper level than their previous findings, which were reported in September 2020 and indicated the potential presence of life.

In 2017, a new technique utilizing tooth enamel analysis was employed to determine the gender of ancient skeletal remains.
This method has now revealed that a 5,000-year-old skeleton, originally presumed to belong to a man, discovered in a tomb near Seville, Spain, in 2008, actually belonged to a highly respected woman of that era.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has published a preliminary version of extensive guidelines regarding the screening of Public Service Awareness (PSA) films created by the Central Government and intended for display in cinema theaters.
The guidelines aim to rationalize the screening of PSA films in cinema theatres.

The European Union has reached an agreement with the United States that will enable companies to continue storing data of European individuals on American servers, avoiding potential disruptions in trans-Atlantic data flows.
The deal ensures the continuity of data transfers utilized by numerous businesses for activities such as online advertising and website traffic analysis.

Recently, the Indian government released a draft notice that requires the installation of air-conditioning systems in truck cabins, manufactured from 1st January 2025 onwards.
This step aims to enhance the working environment for truck drivers in India. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said installation of air-conditioning system in the cabins of motor vehicles belonging to categories N2 and N3 will be mandatory. The N2 category motor vehicles are goods carriages of 3.5 tons, while N3 exceed 12 tons.
