Jharkhand has topped in the delta ranking of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Rurban Mission with composite score of 76.19 in the month of June.
The state has improved its position to eighth place in overall ranking of the mission, which was launched by the Central Government in 2016. It aims to promote local economic development, enhancing basic services and creating well planned Rurban clusters.

Scientists from the US Lawrence-Berkeley Lab have developed a fuel from a bacterium fuel ‘POP-FAME’, for poly-cyclo-propanated fatty acid methyl ester.
The fuel has energy density values exceeding 50 mega-joules a litre, which is more than the rocket fuels used at present.

Hindustan Power Exchange (HPX), the third power exchange in the country was launched recently. It is backed by BSE and Power Trading Corporation (PTC).
PTC India and BSE Investment hold 25 per cent each in HPX, while 9.9 per cent is held by ICICI Bank. The other two exchanges in the country are Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) and Power Exchange of India ltd (PXIL), while IEX holds 98 per cent almost monopoly on the total traded power.

The Meghalaya has launched a roadmap to invest in early childhood education programmes, to revamp elementary education in Meghalaya.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced that the government has earmarked Rs 300 crore from externally aided projects to make investment in early childhood education programmes.

New Delhi Lieutenant Governor announced significant changes in the property tax policy of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) after its unification.
He also launched ‘SAH-BHAGITA scheme’ to reward Residential Welfare Association (RWAs) for property tax collection and waste management systems.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the First I2U2 Leaders’ Virtual Summit along with his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and US President Joe Biden.

India’s first e-waste Eco-park is set to be developed in Holambi Kalan in Delhi. Every year the capital city produces over two lakh tonnes of e-waste, which is about 9.5 percent of the total amount produced in India.
Delhi is now the fifth-largest producer of e-waste in India, behind Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. However, only 5 per cent of the generated e-waste is properly recycled.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched the P17A stealth frigate Dunagiri, named after a mountain range in Uttarakhand.
It was built by PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers. P17A ships are guided-missile frigates and Dunagiri is the fourth P17A ship.  The first two ships of the P17A Project were launched in 2019 and 2020. The third ship ‘Udaygiri’, was recently launched in Mumbai.

Two-time Olympian and India’s ace Skeet shooter Mairaj Ahmad Khan won the country’s first ever individual gold in the ISSF World Cup at Changwon, Korea.
India stays on top of the medal standings with five gold, five silver and three bronze medals with two more days of competitions left. India also won a bronze with the 50m Rifle women’s team of Anjum Moudgil, Sift Kaur Samra and Ashi Chouksey.
