Tata Group’s Air India (AI) has signed an agreement with Amadeus IT Group SA, a travel technology. This is a part of the carrier’s revitalisation plan and the agreement aims to deploy technology solutions to enhance customer experience and operational effectiveness.
Air India is implementing the Amadeus Altéa PSS suite, including components from revenue management, revenue accounting, retailing, and merchandising, website, mobile and frequent flyer programme management.

Notes:
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) liberalised norms to boost inflows of foreign exchange. The measures include easing norms for FPI investment in debt market, and increasing the External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) limit under the automatic route from USD750 million or its equivalent per financial year to USD 1.5 billion.
Exemption from Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) and Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) on Incremental FCNR (B) and NRE Term Deposits was also announced.

Legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja was recently nominated to Rajya Sabha, along with veteran athlete PT Usha, film screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad and spiritual leader Veerendra Heggade.
The nominations are done by the President on the advice of the Union Cabinet. While PT Usha is from Kerala, Ilaiyaraaja is from Tamil Nadu, Veerendra Heggade is from Karnataka and Vijayendra Prasad is from Andhra Pradesh.

Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare organised a ‘National Conclave on Dragon Fruit’. The Centre has decided to promote the cultivation of dragon fruit.
It is also known as a “super fruit” for its health benefits. At present, this exotic fruit is cultivated in 3,000 hectares; the plan is to increase cultivation to 50,000 hectares in five years. Gujarat and Haryana Governments had already offered incentives for cultivation of the fruit.

World Health Organisation (WHO) announced that two suspected cases of the Marburg virus disease have been detected in Ghana. The samples of the two patients, who died later, turned positive.
According to the WHO, Marburg is a highly infectious viral haemorrhagic fever in the same family as the well-known Ebola virus disease.

The Enforcement Directorate’s (ED’s) money-laundering probe into mobile phone maker Vivo India has revealed that the company remitted about Rs 62,476 crore of its turn-over to China between 2017 and 2021, to avoid paying taxes in India.
According to an official, Vivo India’s books showed losses in most of its associate firms while transferring money to China.

Hydrocarbon Exploration and Licensing Policy (HELP), a new policy for finding and producing oil and gas, was launched by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the year 2016.
Seven bid rounds of the Open Acreage Licensing Programme (OALP) have been concluded so far and 134 exploration and production blocks were awarded. In the recent 7th bid round, ONGC, OIL and GAIL got most of the eight blocks offered for exploration and production of oil and gas.

Charles Leclerc clinched the Austrian Grand Prix for Ferrari while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen settled for second position.
Mercedes’ seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton was at third place. Leclerc’s Spanish team mate Carlos Sainz, was a first time winner at Silverstone earlier.

Finnish telecom major Nokia has partnered with Indian Institute of Science to set-up Nokia Center of Excellence in networked robotics at IISc Bengaluru.
The Center of Excellence (CoE) will promote inter-disciplinary research in the field of robotics and advanced communication technologies in 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The Navies of China and Pakistan commenced a live-fire drill off the Shanghai coast as part of joint maritime exercise code named Sea Guardians-2.
The Navies are set to deploy their new high-tech naval ships and fighter jets to jointly deal with maritime security threats.
