The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and India’s leading Motorcycle brand Royal Enfield have partnered to promote and safeguard the Intangible Cultural Heritage of India, starting with the Himalayas.
India is one of the 178 countries to have adopted the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).

Union Health Ministry has partnered with Edelweiss General Insurance to help create digital health IDs for all in the country.
‘ABHA’ or the Ayushman Bharat Health Account is a 14-digit number that helps users to share and access their health records digitally with registered healthcare providers. National Health Authority (NHA) is the apex body responsible for implementing this program under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

Tech Major Google has made some several major announcements at its second edition of Safer with Google initiative event.
Some of them are ‘Child safety toolkit’ and ‘Cyber-security up-skilling program’ for approximately 100,000 developers, IT, and start-up professionals across the country. The company will organise hybrid Cyber-security Road show under this program with a target to reach nearly 100,000 developers, IT and start-up professionals.

A new agreement has been signed between the German and Canadian governments to begin shipping hydrogen across the Atlantic as early as 2025.
The Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance has been signed as Europe tries to avoid Russian energy amid the war in Ukraine.

The embalmed heart of Portuguese monarch Dom Pedro I, arrived from Portugal and will be put on display as part of independence anniversary celebrations in Brazil.
The Portuguese government has loaned the heart to Brazil for three weeks for the bicentennial celebration. The monarch declared Brazilian independence from Portugal 200 years ago. Also called as the ‘the Liberator’, he was the founder and first ruler of the Empire of Brazil.

US Aerospace major Boeing manufactures the F/A-18 Super Hornet. Recently the Indian Navy has shortlisted F/A-18 Super Hornet and Rafale M aircraft produced by the French aerospace major Dassault Aviation for the procurement.
Boeing has pitched that the Super Hornets are the best platform to address the Indian Navy’s requirement of deck-based jets for aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

The 31^st Vyas Samman Award was conferred to Hindi writer Dr. Asghar Wajahat in New Delhi. He has been chosen for the prestigious award for his play Mahabali focused on Mughal emperor Akbar and poet Tulsidas.
The Vyas Samman is given by K K Birla Foundation for outstanding literary work in Hindi authored by an Indian citizen published during the last 10 years.

India displaces China to become the country with the highest number of sponsored study visas in the U.K. for the first time since 2011.
As per official data published by the British government, Indian citizens received the largest share of U.K. student, skilled worker and visitor visas for 2022.

India has joined the club of countries that have razed buildings taller than 100 metres. The Supertech Twin Towers in Noida were demolished in seconds.
After the Supreme Court found them in violation of building norms and ordered them to be razed, the towers were demolished. The blast was planned to ensure that the towers fall straight down by ‘waterfall technique’.

Notes:
The Indian Army began the reconstruction of the 150-year-old Bailey Bridge over the Sukhtawa River, which collapsed earlier in April. It is on the Bhopal -Nagpur Highway.
The Army is using the technique, which is used to build bridges in hilly areas. The bridge will be 93 feet long and 10.50 feet wide. It will be very strong and can sustain even 40 tonnes of weight.
