Deoghar Airport in Jharkhand is the first airport in the country to land a commercial aircraft in low visibility.
It has the capability to land a commercial aircraft even in a visibility of just 3200 meters. Special Visual Flight Rules (VFR) operations are being started for commercial flights for the first time from Deoghar Airport.

To mark 25 years of its operations in India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced a fresh investment of ₹3,300 crore to set up a new plant in Karnataka.
The new plant (Plant 3), scheduled to commence operations in 2026, aims to produce 1 lakh units annually through two shifts.

The National Gopal Ratna Awards were presented recently, as part of the National Milk Day celebration in 2023 by Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying.
The primary aim is to acknowledge and motivate individuals such as farmers engaged in the rearing of indigenous animals, artificial insemination technicians, and cooperative societies, milk producer companies, and dairy farmer producer organizations contributing to this sector.

India and the European Union formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on semiconductors.
The agreement was finalized during a discussion between leaders of the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC). As part of the understanding, the EU highlighted that it will involve the exchange of information concerning granted public subsidies, contributing to transparency and cooperation in the field of semiconductors between the two entities.

ITC Limited launched the ITCMAARS (Metamarket for Advanced Agriculture and Rural Services) app and “phygital” ecosystem in West Bengal.
The app and ecosystem aim to bring the benefits of digital technology to farmers in the state. ITCMAARS is a “phygital” ecosystem, which combines physical and digital interventions. The app and ecosystem offer farmers a range of agricultural solutions, including Advanced crop advisory services, Market access and financial services.

Genesys International, a leading 3D mapping company, announced a strategic tie-up with Survey of India (SOI), the country’s national surveying and mapping authority.
This collaboration is set to revolutionise India’s map content through the implementation of the ‘3D Digital Twin Mapping Program.’ Aligned with India’s National Geospatial Policy 2022, the partnership aims to create digital twins of major cities and towns.

World Health Organisation (WHO) confirmed sexual transmission of mpox, or monkeypox, in Congo for the first time, after Democratic Republic of the Congo’s largest-ever outbreak.
WHO has officially classified monkeypox (mpox), an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV), as a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

Madhya Pradesh High Court has said that ‘the right to speedy justice is a Fundamental Right’ while rejecting a plea against the executive order of the Chief Justice asking district courts to dispose of 25 of their oldest cases every quarter.
If a court fails to dispose of 25 of its oldest cases in a quarter, the remainder will be added to their target in the next quarter, as per the order.  There was a prolonged strike by lawyers across Madhya Pradesh against the order.

Tennis player Ramkumar Ramanathan, a member of the Indian Davis Cup team, clinches Grand Double Title.
Tamil Nadu star Ramkumar, ranked 642 on the ATP ranking list, recorded a 6-0, 6-4 victory against the 874th ranked National Champion Vishwakarma, in the all-Indian men’s singles finals of the MSLTA $25000 Men’s ITF Tennis Championship 2023.

Indian public sector aerospace and defence manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics, which currently has the capacity to build eight Light Combat Aircraft per year, intends to take up to 24 in the course of the next three years.
The first version of the Tejas LCA aircraft was inducted into the IAF in 2016. Currently, two squadrons of IAF, 45 Squadron and 18 Squadron, are fully operational with LCA Tejas.  An order worth Rs 36,468 crore for delivery of 83 LCA Mk 1A aircraft has been placed with HAL and delivery is scheduled to begin by February 2024.
