Quacquarelli Symonds released QS Asia University Rankings 2024. IIT Bombay has secured the top position in India and 40th position in overall Asia. Similarly, IIT Delhi stood second among Indian institutes and secured 46th rank overall.
Peking University of China topped the Asia ranking list by securing Rank 1 followed by the University of Hong Kong in the second position and the National University of Singapore in the third place. A record 148 Indian universities found their place in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024.

November 15 marks the Jharkhand Foundation Day. It was formed as the 28th state on November 15, 2000.
Every year November 15th is celebrated as the Jharkhand Foundation Day across the state. Before this, the state was part of southern half of Bihar.

Hyderabad is preparing for the Sadar festival, an annual event celebrated by the people every year on the second day following Diwali.
This festival, also known as Dunnapothula Panduga (Festival of the Buffalo Cattle), is a carnival dedicated to buffaloes.

Researchers from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) have identified two additional high-value species of seer fish in Indian waters.
One of these species, the Arabian sparrow seer fish (Scomberomorus avirostrus), is entirely new to the field of science, while the other, Russell’s spotted seer fish (Scomberomorus leopardus), has been resurrected as a distinct species.

Prime Minister Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Janjaatiya Aadivasi Nyaya Mahabhiyaan, PM JanMan on the occasion of third Janjaatiya Gaurav Diwas at Khunti district of Jharkhand.
The 24,000-crore rupee scheme aims to benefit and saturate the families and habitations with basic facilities. The Prime Minister also released the 15th instalment of about 18000 crore rupees under PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, during the occasion.

‘Amini,’ which is the fourth vessel in the Anti-submarine warfare Shallow Water Craft (SWC) Project consisting of eight ships, was launched at Larsen and Toubro, Kattupalli.
The contract for constructing these eight ASW SWC ships was signed between the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata in 2019.

A biobank houses tissue samples of a lakh healthy people to enable researchers study the onset and progression of diseases.
The 20-crore state-of-the-art biobank, the first in south India and only the third such facility in the country was launched in Hyderabad. It would serve as a repository for future collaborative research to map onset and progress, prevention and reversal of diseases.

WHO and the Ministry of Ayush signed the Traditional and Complementary Medicine ‘Project Collaboration Agreement’.
This agreement will mainstream Traditional and Complementary Medicine into India’s National Health System. The first contract was signed in 2016 to take Traditional Medical systems like Yoga, Ayurveda, Unani, and Panchakarma to the global level and the second contract was signed in 2017 to strengthen the system of Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha medical systems.

In 2022, an estimated 11 lakh children in India missed their vital first dose of the measles vaccine: CDC-WHO Report.
India is among the 37 countries that witnessed large or disruptive outbreaks, reporting 40,967 measles cases in 2022, according to the report. This puts India among 10 countries with the highest number of children who did not receive the first shot.

Researchers have rediscovered a rare egg-laying mammal and an entirely new genus of tree-dwelling shrimp.
More than 60 years after it was last recorded, a team of scientists have rediscovered Attenborough’s long-beaked echidna (Zaglossus attenboroughi), an extremely rare, egg-laying mammal known only to live in the Cyclops Mountains of Indonesia’s Papua Province.
