Notes:
The Delhi Assembly along with the Lok Sabha will host a 3-day Commonwealth Youth Parliament (CYP) from 25th November 2019. About 47 participants from 24 countries will participate in the event. The CYP  is an annual gathering hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). It brings together young people aged 18–29 from across the Commonwealth of Nations to discuss issues of democracy and governance.

Notes:
The Chhattisgarh government has decided to constitute State Folk Art Council (SFAC) for preserving and nurturing traditional art forms and artists. The council will also ensure registration of folk art troupes of all kinds, enlist them and take necessary steps to provide certain assistance including musical instruments and other materials required by them. It would promote folk arts of the state through modern promotional mediums, organize festivals at archaeological and cultural heritage sites.

The 70th Constitution Day (or Samvidhan divas) is celebrated on 26th of November 2019 across the country to mark the adopting of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949.  The constituent assembly took two years, 11 months and 17 days to accomplish the stupendous task of drafting the historic document.  It is the longest written constitution of any sovereign country in the world. The Constitution declares India a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens justice, equality and liberty and endeavours to promote fraternity. It came into force on 26th January 1950 to marking the beginning of a new era in the history of Indian Republic. 

Notes:
The Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri launched Credit-linked Subsidy Services Awas Portal (CLAP)  in New Delhi on 27th of November 2019. The portal provides a transparent and robust real-time web-based monitoring system for credit-linked Subsidy Services, CLSS, beneficiaries. Using the portal, a beneficiary can track his application status in real-time.

Notes:
Through PSLV-47 vehicle, ISRO has successfully launched the India’s latest earth observation remote sensing satellite Cartosat-3 into Sun Synchronous orbit from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota. Cartosat-3 satellite is a third generation agile advanced satellite having high resolution imaging capability. Beside this, 13 Commercial Nanosatellites from USA were also successfully injected into designated orbit. These satellites were launched under commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of ISRO.

Notes:
The book titled “Hemant Karkare: A Daughters Memoir” has been authored by his daughter Jui Karkare Navare. The book portrays former Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare’s life as a father to his daughter.  Her father was gunned down by Pakistani ISI-backed terrorists who’d stormed Mumbai on the night of 26 November 2008. Beside him, the 18 security personnel also lost their lives in the 26/11 terror attacks.

The NDTV has won the 2019 IPI India Award for Excellence in Journalism 2019 for its  coverage of the  conspiracy to scuttle probe into the heinous Kathua rape and murder case probe and a strong expose of the political hypocrisy across the political spectrum. The story was anchored by senior journalist Nidhi Razdan. The Indian chapter of the International Press Institute (IPI) is an active forum of Editors, Publishers and Senior Executives of newspapers, magazines and news agencies, all of whom are members of the International Press Institute.

Australian writer and broadcaster, Clive James (80) has passed away in Cambridge, United Kingdom on 24th of November 2019. He was known around the world for his dry wit. Born in 1939, he moved to England in 1961 and rose to prominence as a literary critic and TV columnist. He went on to deliver wry commentary on international programming in such shows as Clive James On Television.

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries (RIL) has become the first Indian firm to hit Rs 10 lakh crore mark in market capitalization following a spike in its share price. The oil-to-telecom conglomerate’s market capitalisation (m-cap) zoomed to Rs 10.02 lakh crore during morning trade on the BSE. TCS is the India’s 2nd most valued firm with a market valuation of Rs 7,79,708.02 crore, followed by HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever and HDFC. The m-cap figures of companies change daily with stock price movement.

Notes:
Two IITs (IIT Gandhinagar & IIT Kharagpur)  and the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) have joined hands to develop Gandhipedia to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. The Gandhipedia is an online repository of books, letters and speeches written by Mahatma Gandhi. Approx 100 works of Mahatma Gandhi such as his letters and speeches, would be uploaded in the portal. The entire project will be done with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
