Panchayati Raj (Council of five officials) is a system of local self-government in villages across rural India. It comprises of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) through which self-government of villages is realized. They are tasked with “economic development, implementation of Central and State Government schemes and strengthening social justice besides the implementation of 29 subjects listed in the Eleventh Schedule of constitution.

A Biogas plant is going to be set up at Brahmapur in Buxar district soon. For this purpose, GNIGPL has signed deal with GAIL (India) Limited. This gas will be made by using straw, corn stalks, poultry farm waste, cow and buffalo dung, and agricultural waste to make CBG. 14 crore will be spent for construction of the plant. Cost of this gas will come to Rs 34 per kg, which oil and gas companies will bought at Rs 46 per kg.

According to Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) report, as of January 1, 2020, women accounted for 25.3 percent of total police strength in Bihar. Thus, out of 91,862 police personnel, 23245 are women, which is the highest among all other states. This figure is double the national average of 10.3 per cent. Strength of women personnel has improved significantly from 2015, when just 3.3 per cent of the force were women in Bihar. Now, one in every four cops is a woman. Bihar has surpassed Himachal Pradesh (19.15 per cent) and Tamil Nadu (18.5 per cent).

Freedom fighter Yadunandan Prasad Singh died in Rosada on April 28, 2021 at his ancestral residence Damodarpur village in Samastipur. He was 106 years old. He played a leading role in Quit India Movement and actively participated in Satyagraha and Salt Movement. He had hoisted the tricolor at many police stations including Rosda, during British rule.

Plastic Park is being constructed in Begusarai district. Begusarai will also be developed as “hub of plastic industry” in Bihar. A polypropylene unit will also be set up at Barauni Refinery.

The Rajgir Zoo Safari or Rajgir Wildlife Safari is located in Rajgir, Bihar. It was opened on February 20, 2022. It has a maximum 1,000 daily visitor capacity. It has been developed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Rs 177 crore was spent on it. It is spread over 191.12 hectares. It comprises of five zones to accommodate more than 250 herbivores and carnivores.

India and Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to execute 679 MW Lower Arun Hydro Electric Project in Nepal. MoU was signed between Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) under Indian Ministry of Power, and Investment Board of Nepal (IBN). Power from this project will be evacuated to India, by means of 400 kV double circuit transmission line to Sitamarhi district.

Bihar has become the first state to deliver land map the ryot at home. This facility was started by Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Department. For this, Bihar Survey Office signed an MoU with postal department and bank. Postal department will deliver the maps through speed post.
