‘YUVA Tourism Clubs’ Initiative

YUVA Tourism Clubs are being established by the Ministry of Tourism as a part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.

What is the purpose of YUVA Tourism Clubs?

To develop young ambassadors of the Indian tourism sector who would become aware of the potential for tourism in India, appreciate India’s rich cultural heritage, and ignite a passion for tourism. The clubs will encourage learners to appreciate the importance of tourism, sensitize learners regarding elements of travel, and promote responsible & sustainable tourism practices. These clubs will also promote national integration and carry forward the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. This is also in line with Dekho Apna Desh initiative of the Prime Minister.

Where the YUVA Tourism Clubs will be set up?

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pledged to support the YUVA Tourism Clubs initiative. CBSE issued instructions to its affiliated schools to form Yuva Tourism Clubs.

What are the guidelines regarding organizing the Yuva Tourism Clubs in Schools?

School management must select a teacher or group of teachers, who will perform functions like awareness generation, communicating the purpose of clubs, selecting the student body, etc. A minimum of 25 student members should always be there in a Yuva Tourism Club.

How Ministry of Tourism is promoting this initiative?

The Tourism Ministry prepared and published a handbook for Schools for conducting Tourism Clubs, which guides the work of Yuva Tourism Clubs. It contains information regarding operational strategies, guidelines, and suggestions for the conduct of various activities. Schools are suggested to incorporate activities under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program like e-tourism, learning the language of the paired states, having exposure to diversity, adopting tourism hotspots, etc.
