Yuva Sangam Phase III
The Government of India has officially unveiled the registration portal for Phase III of Yuva Sangam, a vital initiative falling under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) campaign. Yuva Sangam aims to foster a strong people-to-people connection among youth hailing from different states and union territories within the country.
Who Can Participate
- Age Group: The program is open to interested youth aged between 18 and 30 years.
- Eligibility: This initiative is designed for various segments of youth, including students, NSS (National Service Scheme)/NYKS (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan) volunteers, employed individuals, self-employed individuals, and more.
Origin and Purpose
- Origin: The concept of establishing a sustained and structured cultural connection among people from different regions was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas on October 31, 2015, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
- Launch of EBSB: To realize this vision, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) was officially launched on October 31, 2016.
Focus on Cultural Exchange and Education
- Inspiration from NEP 2020: Yuva Sangam, launched under EBSB, takes inspiration from the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- Experiential Learning: The initiative emphasizes experiential learning and gaining knowledge of India’s rich diversity through first-hand experiences.
- Diversity Celebration: It promotes the celebration of diversity at its core, offering participants an immersive experience of various aspects of life, natural landscapes, developmental milestones, recent achievements, and youth connections in the host state.
- Participating Institutions: Phase III of Yuva Sangam involves the collaboration of twenty eminent institutions across India.
Multi-Dimensional Exposure
- Five Key Areas: Yuva Sangam provides multi-dimensional exposure under five broad categories: Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology).
- Duration: Youth from different states will visit other states for 5-7 days, immersing themselves in various facets of the host state and engaging with local youth.
Collaborating Ministries
- Participating Ministries: Several ministries are actively involved in EBSB, including Education, Home Affairs, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs & Sports, Information & Broadcasting (I&B), and Railways.
- Distinct Roles: Each ministry has distinct roles and responsibilities for the successful implementation of their respective duties.
- Ministry of Education: Specifically, the Ministry of Education is responsible for selecting youth and conducting tours through higher education institutes.
Achievements and Impact
- Volunteerism: Yuva Sangam has instilled a sense of volunteerism in the nation’s youth.
- Participation: Over 3,240 individuals from across India have participated in 73 tours as part of various phases of Yuva Sangam, including the pilot phase under EBSB.
- Nation-Building Activities: Participants have actively contributed to nation-building activities, including NEP Celebrations, Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign, and more.
