Xorai
Xorai is tray used in Assam when offering prayers or when serving betel nuts or tamale paan to guests. It is made of bell metal and has sand at the bottom. It may or may not have a lid. Xorais are used in most Assamese households. They are mainly manufactured at Sarthebari in Bajali district. It had been in use from as early as the time of Sankardeva, the Vaishnavite reformer.
