Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swarved Mahamandir, a majestic seven-floor temple situated in Varanasi’s Umaraha area. This grand spiritual edifice is a testament to architectural splendor and serves as a center for meditation with a seating capacity for 20,000 individuals.
Centenary Celebration of Vihangam Yoga
The inauguration coincided with the centenary celebration of Vihangam Yoga, marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Vihangam Yog Sansthan by Sadguru Sadafal Deoji Maharaj. Prime Minister Modi actively participated in the celebration during his visit to the temple, emphasizing its cultural and spiritual significance.
Key Features of Swarved Mahamandir
- Impressive Design: The temple is adorned with a stunning design featuring 125-petal lotus domes, establishing itself as one of the largest meditation centers globally.
- Strategic Location: Situated in the Umaraha area, approximately 12 km from Varanasi’s city center, the Swarved Mahamandir covers an expansive area of 3,00,000 square feet.
- Historical Foundation: The foundation of the Mahamandir was laid in 2004 by Sadguru Acharya Swantantra Dev and Sant Pravar Vigyan Dev.
- Collaborative Construction: The temple’s construction involved the collaborative efforts of 600 workers and 15 engineers, showcasing dedication and teamwork.
