World Pulses Day
In a bid to increase awareness and access of pulses, the UNGA declared February 10 to be the World Pulses Day. This day recognises pulses as a global food. During this day, awareness is created about pulses’ role in sustainable food production, food security and nutritional security. The day also seeks to maintain the momentum gained during the FAO’s declaration of 2016 as the International Year of Pulses.
