World Heritage Day: April 18

World Heritage Day observed across the world on April 18, 2013.
Objective: To create consciousness amid the people to preserve and protect the precious assets and cultural heritage across the world. It marks the need of shielding the historical monuments and sites located in every part of the world by making joint efforts at international level.
World Heritage Day

  • First world Heritage Day observed on April 18, 1982 by the International Council of Monuments and Sites in Tunisia and was approved in 1983 by UNESCO.
  • To make people aware about the aim of the this day, several awareness camps are organized across the world.
