World Book Day

April 23rd is observed as the World Book Day. In light of this occasion, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development launched the My Book My Friend campaign.

About World Book Day

World Book Day or World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated on April 23rd every year. The day was chosen by UNESCO to commemorate the birth or death of several prominent authors like Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, etc. The day is observed to promote reading, publishing and copyright.

My Book My Friend Campaign

The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development launched the My Book My Friend campaign in light of the World Book Day 2020. Under this campaign, students were encouraged to share the titles of books they were reading and to pick a book as their best friend.

NBT Webinar

The National Book Trust and FICCI organised a webinar on ‘Post-COVID Publishing Scenario’ on occasion of the World Book Day. At the webinar, the importance of e-content and e-learning, especially in light of the COVID-19 crisis was highlighted.
