Who used to live in Potala Palace?
Potala Palaceis located at Lhasa and was chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso (Tenzin Gyatso in short) fled to Dharamsala in India. The palace was named after Mount Polata. Now its a museum. its history dates back to 637 AD when the first palace was built by King Songtsen Gampo to greet his bride Princess Wen Cheng of the Tang Dynasty of China.King Songtsen Gampo used this place for meditation. The Potala Palace was inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994.
