Syed Nayeemuddin, the legendary Indian footballer and coach, will be conferred with the 2016 Mohun Bagan Ratna (Mohun Bagan Jewel) at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, West Bengal on July 29, 2016 for his overall contribution to the club and the country both as a player and as a coach. He is the only sports-person to win both the Arjuna and Dronacharya Awards for football. The Mohun Bagan Ratna is awarded every year on 29th July, which is celebrated as Mohum Bagan Day, to recognize and lauds indispensable contribution of football greats to the club over the years.
