Sunil Bharti Mittal, the chief executive of Bharti Group, has been elected as the new Chairman of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Mittal succeeded Terry McGraw, Chairman Emeritus of S&P Global, who becomes ICC’s Honorary Chairman. With this, Mittal has become the 3rd Indian business leader to hold this position in ICC’s near 100 years history. The ICC is the world’s largest business organization which represents private-sector views to national governments and intergovernmental bodies around the world. It advocates for free trade and the market economy, working through a network of national committees and direct members in over 130 countries. The headquarters of ICC is at Paris, France.
