Ajay Mittal, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh Cadre, has been appointed as the new secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I & B). He succeeded Sunil Arora. Prior to his appointment, he was serving as Additional Chief Secretary for Transport, Social Justice and Empowerment Department in Himachal Pradesh.
