[A]Mehdi Jomaa

[C]Youssef Chahed
[D]Beji Caid Essebsi
Youssef Chahed
Youssef Chahed, the former local and regional affairs minister, has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Tunisia by the Tunisia’s President Beji Caid Essebsi. He succeeded Habib Essid, who lost vote of no-confidence in the parliament because of his handling of economic reforms and security. Chahed nomination is likely to be approved by a Parliamentary vote, as required. If Chahed wins the backing of parliament, he will be the Tunisia’s youngest premier since it won independence from France in 1956. He would also be Tunisia’s 7th Prime Minister in less than 6 years since the 2011 uprising that toppled longtime dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
