Who founded the Salvation Army?
The salvation army is the name of international Christian evangelical movement which was founded in 1865 by William and Catherine Booth as the East London Christian Mission in UK. In 118 countries the Salvation Army does evangelical, social and charitable work and brings the Christian message to the poor, destitute and hungry by meeting both their physical and spiritual needs. The motto is “Blood and Fire”. It is called as “Sally Anne” in Canada, “Sally Army” in the United Kingdom, “The salvos” in Australia & “The Sallies” in New Zealand.
