The Nagaland State Police department has won the National Award for Smart Policing in the category of Road Safety and Traffic Management for the initiative of “SMS based Vehicle Monitoring System (SVMS)” at FICCI Auditorium in New Delhi. The SVMS provides an easy platform for policemen and citizens to report vehicle theft and alert the various field formations of police across the state through sending one SMS. The award is instituted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
