The world famous river island and seat of Vaishnavite culture “Majuli district” will soon become the India’s first-ever carbon neutral district by 2020. To achieve this goal, the Assam government has launched a project “Sustainable Action for Climate Resilient Development in Majuli” ( SACReD Majuli) to combat climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
