Varanasi and Jaipur
For first time, the Indian cities of Varanasi and Jaipur have been designated as members of UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network (UCCN). In the UCCN, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) has been added in the City of Craft category of network and Jaipur (Rajasthan) has been added in the City of Music category of network. These cities are among the 47 cities from 33 countries that have been designated as new members of UCCN. The next meeting of the Creative Cities Network is scheduled for September 2016 in Ostersund (Sweden).
