The President of India Pranab Mukherjee has declared Kerala as India’s first digital state during the launch of digital empowerment campaign at Kozhikode, Kerala. The campaign aims to develop better digital communication across the state by 2020. Kerala is the first Indian state to successfully link its villages with broadband connectivity under the National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) programme.
