To facilitate easy travel throughout the Schengen Area (Europe) and aid in issuance of long-term visas, France has introduced biometric visas to Indian nationals from November 2, 2015. The recorded biometric data will be stored for a period of 59 months (almost 5 years) and will remove the need for applicants to come in person again for renewing their visa.
