The Union Government has recently constituted Sanjay Mitra committee to prepare a policy framework for app-based taxi aggregators and other transport operators. The 3-member committee will look into the issues of Supreme Court’s order dated December 2015 and Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control Authority (EPCA) directions dated April 29, 2016 on banning diesel taxis in Delhi-NCR and the various problems the operators are facing as a result of the ban.
