What is the scheme of Ashram Schools in Tribal Sub-Plan Areas?
Under Ashram Schools in Tribal Sub-Plan Areas grants-in-aid is given to the State Governments, on matching basis i.e. on 50:50 basis (100% in case of UTs). Under the revised scheme, State Govts. are eligible for 100% central share for establishment of all girls Ashram
Schools and also for boys Ashram Schools in naxal affected areas (identified by Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time) from the financial year 2008-09, to promote educational facilities in tribal areas for STs in environment conducive to learning.
