What is a wrongful act?
– Wrongful act is an act which is done without any lawful justification. It is an act an act which is contrary to law. Every wrongful act is not a tort. In tort, an act is said to be wrongful is it invades the private rights of a person, viz – (1) the right of a good reputation; (2) the right of bodily safety and freedom; or (3) the right of property. The concept of wrong involves a value judgment. An act becomes wrongful when the person sought to be made liable under some legal duty, which he did not perform and the default caused loss to the victim.
