What are impervious rocks?

The rocks that do not permit water to pass through them freely are known as Impervious Rocks. They may be porous, like clay, or non-porous, like unfissured granitic rocks. Impervious rocks also known as Impermeable Rocks.

Rock which allows water to pass through it due to cracks or defects are known as pervious rocks.
