West Bengal govt. to set up Kanyashree University

On the occasion of International Girl Child Day, Mamta Banarjee announced about West Bengal Government’s initiative to set up Kanyashree University in Nadia district of West Bengal, which will be only for women. This move aims to empower women and encourage them for higher studies. West Bengal government had also launched Kanyashree scheme in 2013. The objective of this scheme is to ensure the enrollment of girls in school and delay their marriage till the age of 18.
