Vriksharopan Abhiyan – 2021 to be launched

Vriksharopan Abhiyan – 2021 of Coal Ministry is all set to be Launched on August 19, 2021. It will be launched as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Key Points

• In this year, coal PSUs of the Ministry of Coal have set an ambitious target to cover 2385 hectares of area under “Go Greening” drive. Areas will be covered under bio-reclamation or plantation.
• Go Greening drive will be provided the right boost by launching Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2021.
• Mission will be launched by Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary affairs, Shri Pralhad Joshi.
• More than 300 plantation sites will be connected during the Abhiyan around coalfields across India.

Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2021

It is a key event under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations in coal sector. It will bring environment sustainability in mining operations. It will also help the coal sector to obtain social and environmental licence in order for it to operate.  It will be very crucial as more mines will be opened up by involving new players. It will sensitize and motivate society and common people to take more afforestation initiatives in their areas.
