Visakhapatnam Port Ranks 19th in Global Efficiency Index
Along with Mundra Port, Visakhapatnam Port has moved to 19th place in the famous Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) 2023. The World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence work together to make the CPPI 2023. It rates the effectiveness of container ports around the world, mainly looking at how long ships stay in port. This index is an important standard in the maritime business because it shows how productive and well-run ports are.
Visakhapatnam Port’s Performance
Working under the direction of J M Baxi Ports & Logistics, Visakha Container Terminal Pvt Ltd is very efficient. Moves per crane per hour, shorter turnaround times, and little time spent idle at the berth are some of the most important performance measures. All of these things help explain why the port is ranked higher in the CPPL 2023. The fact that it came in 19th place in the 2023 rankings shows that it is more efficient than Mundra Port, which is also a well-known Indian port.
Recognition
Getting this rank has gotten a lot of attention and praise from many groups, including the government. It shows how important the port is to improving India’s maritime business. It also fits with the goals set out in the Marine India Vision 2030, which is meant to strengthen the national marine sector.
