Veer Gatha 2.0 Contest

The Government of India presents Gallantry Awards to honor the brave acts of the army personnel in the Armed Forces. The awards are presented twice a year. These awards are announced on republic day celebrations and Independence Day celebrations. Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Kirthi Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, and Shaurya Chakra are some of the gallantry awards. The President of India presents the Gallantry awards. Under the Veer Gatha Project, the school students are encouraged to do projects on the gallantry award winners. This is done to inculcate patriotism among them.

Veer Gatha 2.0 Contest

Recently, Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh distributed prizes to the winners of the Veer Gatha 2.0 contest. The minister awarded the winners with a medal, certificate, and Rs 10,000 cash prize. During the felicitation, education minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, and CDS Staff General Anil Chauhan were also present. Also, the Chief of Navy, Chief of Army, and the Chief of Air Force were also present.

Background

The contest is jointly conducted by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education.  It is in line with National Education Policy, 2020. The project develops patriotism among Indian students. Also, it develops an interest to join the Indian Army. Today, Veer Gatha is gaining popularity and more students are exhibiting interest to participate in the program.

    Veers are our protectors of our borders ,so everyone must be honour them.
