In 2018, India bagged the tenth rank as the largest recipient of FDI. The inflows of FDI have grown by 6 percent. As per the latest World Investment Report 2019 which was released by the UN Conference on Trade and Development, India has maintained its record of attracting nearly 70-80 percent FDI which is directed towards South Asia. India is now considered as the top 10 vital sources of FDI for 2019-2021. Although India is still behind on a global stage, yet it has made a significant beginning in the right direction. It should now focus on both the monetary and strategic aspects. The Indian government also has to open its door a bit more as international commerce is not a one-way street by opening more sectors to FDI.
