How to Apply
Eligible candidates must ensure that they possess the necessary qualifications and fulfil all the required criteria before applying for the posts.

Candidates should keep the following ready before registering applications:
- Valid E-mail id.
- Details of one Photo ID Card viz. Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government.
- Scanned copy of latest passport size coloured photograph.
- Scanned signature in digital format

Essential Qualification
For Geologists Gr ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India
Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geo sciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
For Geo physicists Gr ‘ A ‘ in Geological Survey of India
M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed universities under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
For Chemists Gr ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India
- Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 i.e. recognized University.
For Junior Hydrgeologists (Scientist B), Group ‘A’ in Central Ground Water Board
Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or
(b) Master’s degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized University.
Selection Procedure
- Part I-Written examination
- Part II- Interview/ Personality Test of such candidates as may be called by the Commission (200 marks).

For Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’):
Minimum: 21 years
Maximum: 32 years
For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) in Central Ground water Board:
Minimum: 21 years
Maximum: 35 years
Upper Age limit is relaxable by:
3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer).
5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Persons with Disabilities Candidates: 10 years
Fee
Unreserved/OBC candidates: Rs 200
Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates: Nil
The fee has to be paid online by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI.
