Other Measures for Tribal Welfare
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has also included a further 26 Minor Forest Produces in the ‘Mechanism for Marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP) and Development of Value Chain for MFP’. This will provide a better rate of return to the various tribal communities involved in the harvesting of such forest produce.
The Ministry is also arranging for better facilities for skill up-gradation and value addition for the MFPs in form for the Van Dhan Kendras which will provide a better monetary return to the tribal gatherers.
