Union Government to launch “Saksham” to Educate Adolescent Boys
The Ministry of Women and Child Development will start a scheme called Saksham for the empowerment of adolescent boys by imparting education on gender sensitivity and moral behavior. The aim of Saksham is to target young boys in the age group 10-18 years for their holistic development by giving lessons in gender sensitivity and instilling in them respect for women. The government has already sanctioned Rs 10 lacs for preparatory work for the programme which is expected to start from the next financial year 2012-13.
