UN adopts political declaration on women’s rights

United Nations has recently adopted a basic political declaration on women’s rights during the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women.

The adopted text follows the theme of the ‘Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action of 1995’, which sought to promote liberation and progress of all women around the world. The UN declaration on women is approved every five years.
