UCI strips Lance Armstrong of titles
International Cycling Union (UCI), the governing body of cycling, stripped Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles and banned him for life. The decision came following a report from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that has accused him of leading a massive doping programme on his teams.
The move will allow Tour de France organizers to officially remove Armstrong’s name from the record books, wiping off his consecutive victories from 1999 to 2005.
