Tribes India outlet opened in Prayagraj Airport
On July 1, 2020, the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation (TRIFED) operating under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs opened a Tribes India outlet at Prayagraj airport. It is the second such opening of its kind and fourth in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Highlights
In collaboration of Airport Authority of India, TRIFED had set up 9 showrooms at airports of Jaipur, Chennai, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Trivandrum, Coimbatore, Pune, Goa, Kolkata and Coimbatore. The recently inaugurated tribes India outlet is 10th outlet at airports and 121st in the country.

The Tribes India has recently begun to expand its outlet. It has also launched its outlet on amazon in order to boost online sales of tribal products.
Tribes India is a brand that was launched by TRIFED in 1987.
TRIFED
TRIFED is the national level apex organization that is operating under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. It aims at socio-economic development of tribal people by marketing tribal products such as tribal textiles, metal crafts, pottery, paintings, pottery.
TRIFED also undertakes Minor Forest Produce and retail marketing and development.
