Training Programme on Legislative Drafting

Legislative drafting plays a crucial role in shaping policies and regulations that impact the welfare of society and the state. To ensure effective governance and adherence to the rule of law, it is vital for legislative draftsmen to possess the necessary skills and knowledge in this field. Recognizing this need, the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) and the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) have joined forces to organize a comprehensive training programme on legislative drafting.

Objective and Target Audience

The main goal of this training program is to help different stakeholders, such as parliamentary officers, state legislatures, ministries, statutory bodies, and government departments, develop an understanding of the principles and practices of legislative drafting. By equipping these individuals with the requisite knowledge and skills, the programme aims to enhance their ability to draft effective legislation that promotes democratic governance and upholds the rule of law.

Capacity Building and Collaboration

The training programme is designed to contribute to the capacity building of legislative draftsmen, empowering them to navigate the complexities of legislative drafting with competence and efficiency. Through this initiative, ICPS and PRIDE seek to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among professionals in the field, enabling them to develop and implement robust legislative frameworks.
